Unmade is a Portsmouth based community radio station offering a platform for DJs and sounds that are not currently represented within local nightlife or radio. unmade will bring bedroom DJs out of their bedrooms, bring unlikely collaborators together, and give Portsmouth stalwarts the opportunity to express themselves outside of their usual confines.
Unmade will be inclusive, reactive and always progressive. The sound will be new, forward-thinking, alternative or rare, but never none of the above. unmade will cover a wide spectrum of genres – if it’s good, it’s good.
Unmade will be a creative hub that will aim to intersect the disparate elements of Portsmouth’s music scene by bringing music lovers together. Everyone will have a voice. Only by being totally inclusive can we push the future of music in the city whilst paying homage to its past.
Soundsystem Continuum
Emerging from the punk scene in the 80s, Buddha found his home in what was then the embryonic UK Rave scene. With a love of music that could engage, he found his home in the DIY free party ideals of squats and free festivals.
The eclectic mix of sounds from this era still resonate and Buddha's sets can vary wildly from the dreadest of dub to euphoric techno freak outs.
With a strong belief that today's music continues to push forward and be influenced by soundsystem culture, Buddha continues to pursue this spirit. His show strives to capture this essence with sounds with roots in Grime, Dubstep, Garage, Jungle and all points inbetween and beyond.
